Farken the Ferrets Big Adventure

We have taken Farken for walks before but we only use the lead to stop him from getting lost, this was the first time he discovered that if he walked in the same direction as us that he could go much further. Smart ferret.

Yes ferrets really enjoy to have company especially if you cannot spare a lot of time to be with them. I have two ferrets now, Frodo and Fanny, sadly Farken went missing. I wanted to breed them but so many things can go wrong so I decided not to take the risk. They love to play together but of course a ferret is just as happy to play with a cat or a small dog, and equally as amusing. Thank You for commenting, let me know when you get your new ferrets.

That is amazing that you keep them in a room. I wish I was able to do that.

My Scampie just died a few days ago :'( Poor baby boy. He was only 6 years old :( Give all your babies a cuddle for me!

I have four now so I don't walk them as much because they all want to go in different directions. Will start taking them out one at a time so I can train them easier.

My newest ferret was lost for at least two weeks and had been attacked by a fox before he came to me so he doesn't like to be outside at all and runs up my leg.

My ferrets are not kept in a cage, they have a whole room, but have the run of the house morning and night until they get tired.

Ferrets need to be out of their cage for at least 2 hours a day. I started with half hour walks every day and started to move up to longer walks. My male, Scamp, who I got a few years ago, LOVES going for walks. He would go for 2 hour long walks and just loved being outdoors with all the new smells.

My friend's ferret will run towards the door when he is outside. He hates being outside. So it all depends on what your ferret is comfortable with.

Well they just wont walk if they dont want to, but Farken went for a solid 15 minutes or so and then slept for two days, so I wouldnt suggest much more than that, esp if it is hot as they dont like the warm weather too much.
