I have always enjoyed the lilt and rhythm of life the song seems to evoke. You have very nicely rendered it.

Of course she didn't sing it like LATA...and THAT is the point. Every one else in her place, singing for the Bengali version would have felt obliged to reproduce Lata' singing..(I am SURE Lata's recording was done first!!) . Why inherit just the music. Why not the voice too, then? NOT this singer (whom, btw, I have heard of before, I just stumbled onto this while looking for something else!)..NEVER. She is DAZZLING ..she brought her own interpretation to this and sang it. Bravo! Bravo!

Thanks for your lovely comment. The original was sung by Kanan Devi in the early 40s. Lata'ji sang it as a tribute in the early 90s (sradhanjali.) This version by Shaheen was televised in the early 80s. I think each singer brought their own distinctness to this song without copying each other. I for one love all 3 version.

She got to practise more to reach that level of original Kanan Devi. Honestly she is quite far away from that originality and perfection.

thanks for your honest opinion. However Saheen is not a classical singer and she never copies... I give her point for originality and the sweetness of her voice. never the less thanks for dropping by. Have a lovely day!

I have never heard the Bengali version. Loved it.Some of the musical notes are more melodious than the Hindi version.
