Save me Nina!

I feel really gooda bout the lyrical piece, i missed a note, i know, but that is likley to happen when i'm in the audition and nervous so.. i just don't let that kind of thing mess me up.

As for the technical piece... wellllll.....

I might opt. to play it slower when i go in for audition, unless this speed is already pushing it on the slow side... i know I didn't tounge the C# and D on the middle part before the grandioso, I can't seem to get that right? And when i do tounge it, I end up making the note staccato! Very difficult there...

Any advice?

  • Heyy Rodier!! I'm Also Auditioning for A-S. Ummm a few things to help you..... if you dont mind..... first off I must say, your tone is pretty! ... ummm on the Adagio - back off on the Stacatto in m. 5 &6, your pushing it to a marcotoish feel.... remember, use your stomic for stacatto... the dbl #in 7.... barley push on it, be compassionate!.. umm, I sugst that the last measure to be rit. a lil bit. Allegro - @ the beggn. you are starting the note on one... making the whole phrase ttly off the

  • @TBMfan92 thaks for the advice!

I have recently been adding a ritard at the end of the lyrical movement, it does sound better, along with a small fermata on the last note.

As for the fast piece, I'm trying to take my breath on one, but i'll look into the counting. I get really messed up on that on the two phrases before the grand.

If you do upload, make it a video response here ^___^

  • OMG In my opinion Texas All State flute this year is way harder! Lucky :)

  • @AexP1 yeah these are actually pretty easy, compared to what they COULD be!!!

  • I would go a little slower on the technical piece until you have it more under control. Which book and page is that from? I'll try to record it if I can....

  • axel its on... If you fix tht itll line up!! @ the moment I cldnt tell where the phrases were until U got to the Grand.. which Was rly good!! @ m.32 I suggest tht you tongue the note w/ a lil bit more air, so tht you can hear the sepperation! Other then these few minor things I listed, U are pretty much ready!! I hope tht you dont take offense to my cmmnts! because None was intended!! My recording stuff isnt tht great, but I'll try to upload My versions, so tht you can give me some pointers too!

  • @Rodier1128 I used to love to practice in the bathroom!

  • i forgot to mention, I only added the gVerb for ease of listening. My room is PERFECT for practice because of how dry it is. When i get a chance though, I'll go in my bathroom or our schools auditorium ;D
