  • Man, there is nothing like a good ol skew chisel. very versatile tool!

  • also a mortar and pestal are good projects. everytime someone visits i end up getting a request for one. We use use em for crushing pills to put in pets food, mashing herbs, making baby food, lots of uses!

  • 12x20 is pretty big - you can do most anything!

    good projects:

    tool handle

I ground an old file, and pounded it into the new handle! (aluminium pipe for ferrule.)

Another fun first project is a honey dipper. Use a short whiskey glass and turn a lid and base for it, to hold peanuts or maybe a honey jar for the honey dipper.

    Other good easy projects:

    wood mallet

    2 piece wood mallet

laundry stick - to poke clothes in a washing machine (sounds strange, but the wife loves it)

    lawn darts

  • This is awesome - I just got my very first lathe - a 12x20 Mini Lathe - Is this to agressive for a first project?
