I suspect that the playing of this movement at such breakneck speed is the desire to play "authentically," as it would have been played then. And the picture may be just a representation of boys going for a dip, but I have the feeling that the "artist" may be like Jerry Sandusky and other pedophiles that focus on boys' bodies. But they always have "explanations" for their obsession/desire of boys. Just an uneasy "yuk" feeling for the picture. I start to wonder about your your fixation with it.

Sir, you seem to be too concerned, as the people of your kind seem always to find trouble in the most harmless things instead of dealing with more substantial issues, let me state that I am a young man no older than the pictured ones.

Yes, I already had the caps lock on for something else, and so when I typed this, before I was done, it sent itself. The reason I do not like the painting is that I have a five year old daughter that doesn't need to see naked men's butts. It is in poor taste, and doesn't reflect AT ALL what Handel would have meant for Water Music to be played to.

Let's put a Handel's picture! A gigantic old man wearing a powdered wig, make-up, high heels and silk stockings. Hallelujah! Most frightening, Quaker oat meal man would be jealous. The painting including DAT ASS fits perfectly, as magnificent as the music, maybe not to the high standards of tasteful kitsch compilation. Honi soit qui mal y pense.

@sunflower46553 Also, despite the cliché, the real water music "as would have meant Mr.Handel" was a serious effort actually, a fearsome statement of polished bravura music, very manly yet not warlike, meant to cause shivering, (like the painting) loud outdoor music for the Thames shores, the propaganda display for a new foreign monarch, mostly suitable for children like my poor taste, I mean, listen to the affections and the harsh baroque brass in meantone temperament you called off-key.

The first song is different than what I've heard before, and one of the french horns is sometimes off-key. Otherwise, its a pleasant collection.

How Victorian sensibilities, 150 years later, still have a profound effect upon US society. When does classical art become acceptable to view? Or, should it be covered in fig leaves to protect the impressionable of any age. Is the painting in question a Gogan, Renoir or a Matise? Hardly a composition by pedaphiles. Maybe, it was acutally done by a Catholic priest on an outing with his alter boys.

Yeh the picture with the naked dudes is completely weird. Haha this is the only Handel piece with all the parts combined and there's naked dudes on the picture! It's Handel so it's cool.

The painting is a wonderful composition as is this piece by Handel, but it looks like Giligan got a little side-tracked when Skipper asked him to go fetch something to eat - thanks for posting.

i think the painting is perfect for this piece. sometimes people just have to be a little more open-minded when it comes to art. constriction and confinement doesnt lead us to anywhere. furthermore, when adam and eve were created, they were both naked; what im trying to say is that body is just part of nature. instead of viewing it as something sick and perverted, lets just learn how to admire. :)
