My diy befaco, Poor man´s west coast synth? (buchla, serge, etc)?

Current state:
4 x VCO
midi-cv (4 CvOuts + 6 trig outs)
2 x Quad VCA (sum 8 vca, actually it´s a 4 voice synth)
Low-pass 30db VCF
Complex envelope generator (4 in 1 envolepes, BUCHLA bizarre goodness!)
Mini sequencer slicer
noise-lag
ring-mod

Awesome DIY modular synth. Great sound and affordable kits.

  • ahí hay más de un rato soldando...

  • @sergeeo Me llevó más de 1 año. Haciendolo con mucha paciencia y muy poco a poco eso sí..

  • yeah I have built lots but i'm just starting a modular and these look like great kits

are they euro rack format (i would guess so by the look just remember reading somewhere they were slightly different)

very interested in getting some now especially the 281 inspired envelope

  • @videocurcuits mmm i think in the beggining there was some trouble with the eurorack standards, probably cause the old cutter was not so precise (not sure...). Got no more brands to compare but i think it will for sure fit in your (euro)rack, with some file or not... note also the banana connectors (not tipically euroracky but much better for a modular)

The complex envelope is really cool, it creates really bizarre shapes in the oscilloscope. But note, is probably also the hardest to build

  • @videocurcuits oh forgot to mention, you´ll need a power suply +/-15v (like oakley, synthtech, buchla, most fracs etc). that´s also not so common in the eurorack systems i think...

  • nice sounds how are the befaco kits ?

good docs/parts faceplates I'm thinking about getting one or two

  • @videocurcuits Thanks!. I build the modules in a workshop with assistance in case of need, so the docs are generally ok more or less like every kit seller, but not so extremely well documented as i found the kits from let´s say Paia...you also got to make the faceplate with an iron (they give you the print and aluminium).... But the forum and the people behind are pretty helpfull and nice. If you did ever build other electronics before you won´t be lost
