Aviation Oxygen Mask

During an internship in Tampa, FL I had the opportunity to test an EROS MC10 Quick Donning Oxygen Mask. These masks are commonly found on many business jets and are used only in case of an emergency. The mask also has a built in microphone so the pilots can still communicate even with the mask on. If you have any questions please feel free to ask! =)

Do pilots use a mask for takeoff?

@ROBLOXrayan1565 The pilots that fly in these aircraft to my knowledge do not use the masks for takeoff. Perhaps you are thinking about a military plane of some sort because these particular masks are for emergency use only. I was merely testing it out. What's the name of your friends disease?

@rockandroll626 Yes they are very much different than the cabin oxygen masks. They form a better seal around your nose and mouth and include a built in microphone so the pilots can still communicate with ground personnel and one another.

Of course it is. It's a safety device pilots use in case of rapid cabin depressurization called and oxygen mask silly! Periodically you do tests on them to be sure they work. They're also really fun to play with. =P

Dont they use the mask when taking off? because I had a friend and had a disease and couldnt move his body parts from not wearing a mask during a takoeff.
