Why you shouldn't go on fairground rides....

I was waiting at the front of the que for this ride at creamfields festival '08, when the release mechanism fell out of the sky and landed a foot in front of me!

oh ok, just to explain what happenned...

My mate and I were queuing up to go on this ride at creamfields festival. When the cage launched up in the air, the big metal hook that normally holds the cage against the stage was ripped out of the floor with it and flew up into the air. It then landed right in front of us, smashing through the metal plating on the floor in front of the steps! It was a block of concrete on one end, and punched a hole right through that steel plate. imagine if it hit us!
