Gulf of Mexico OilSpill Tragectory Map 2010-05-10

After popular demand I have uploaded a new trajectory map recording based on the animations by the university of South Florida. I do not pretend to be a scientist but a resident and observer from ground zero for the BP oil spill's impact on an inhabited coastal Alabama barrier island.
This Oil Spill Gulf of Mexico Trajectory Map recorded 2010-05-10 is my attempt to explain what the maps show to residents and concerned visitors to our historic and beautiful outpost.
The potential devastation to the Town of Dauphin Island, which has been recognized as the Birdiest Small Town in America for the last several years is very great. A the first landfall on the Great American Flyway we have been a refuge for many exhausted fowl during seasonal migrations. Also, as the 1st capital of the French Territories, the site of the "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead" Fort Conde and a site for many nesting and spawning wildlife the island is rich in historic and natural wonders.
