This was the game that came right before "The Shot." Jordan scored 50 points on 14/28 shooting. He started the game cold, going 0/6 from the field. After that, however, he went on a scoring rampage. There was one stretch of the game where he made a blistering 12/14 fg. Despite his performance, the Bulls could not pull out the victory, losing in overtime by 3 points. Jordan set things straight in game 5, as we all know, by hitting the famous buzzer beater over ehlo that has come to be known as "the shot."

If anyone knows Jordan's full stat line for this game feel free to share - I didn't see it in the video anywhere

  • and this isn't even one of MJ's most memorable games by average NBA fans.

the answer is b/c only Jordan could be this good to spoil us as fans where performances like this aren't even his best of the best.

Jordan always saved his best performances for the playoffs.

Look at who Kobe scores his highest totals against: sorry teams like the Raptors, current Knicks, etc. adn he doesnt do it in the playoffs.

  • It's Funny How People Said He Couldn't Shoot When He Was Young...Shows Ya How Much People Know Even Analyst.

  • @Mraloneandsad Dude stfu what are you talking about of course there could be someone better then him but out of all the time so far he has been the greatest so he is the greatest of all time.

  • if u ask me he isnt the greatest of all time.he i just the greatest so far.I mean u dont know whats gonna happen in 20-30 years.mabye someone ever greater will emerge but i really doubt it.the meantality of the poeple is yust not the same

  • yea he did get 50 but i think they lost this one.thank god they lost hhahah...

  • @diego24kb Actually, the Raptors were easy to beat. That year they hardly had a complete roster due to injuries and had a number of 10 day contracts. That game, the coaching staff directed its players to lay off Kobe and concentrate on stopping his teammates. Kobe and every other perimeter player today also have it easier because of the rules that give every advantage to perimeter players. That's why high scoring performances today have an asterisk beside them.

  • Thx for the upload. But did MJ not miss the crucial Free Throws that would have sealed the deal ? Would have been nicer if you had included those because it makes THE SHOT even sweeter :)

  • @arkade2345 LOL, I read that guy's comment. Just leave him alone. "dont hate just cause kobe is better than you". LMAO

  • @diego24kb "the raptors were pretty hard to beat"--- wow, ok! LOL obv you never actually watched that game. jordan scored so much early in his career b/c he knew it gave his team the best chance to win; kobe ALWAYS scores so much against poor teams simply to score, NOT to win. Watch that 81 pt game & try to tell me that is how the game should be played. He literally ran down the floor to jack up shots within the first :05 of the shot clock. MJ's scoring was always in the flow of the game.

  • @arkade2345 but kobe didnt have a team so the raptors were pretty hard to beat and dont hate just cause kobe is better than you

  • Rediculous.

  • 35 points 10 assists, thats doing it big
