  • Maybe you should try a different way of playing it than I did. Using for example other string combinations, timbre, tempo, rubato, key. Look at the score and try to find some way of playing it in a unique way, making it fresh even if it is a piece we´ve heard thousands of times.

  • bravo, mec, c'est déjà pas facile au piano, j'imagines que t'as quelques heures de boulot. Peaufines un peu l'interprétation, la fluidité, et tu auras de quoi en faire palir plus d'un. Vrai talent...

  • Merci beaucoup. Je pense comme tu aussi. Je vais peaufinir ma technique.

    Salut.

  • i love how there seem to be 2 voices speaking back and forth where bach originally wrote only 1 voice

  • Yes indeed one voice is written, but two virtual voices are the result

  • Hi Francisco,

How do you go about working out fingerings for classical pieces such as the Bach Prelude Suite No 1 for Cello on the Stick.? Do you have a particular approach to this? Thanks again..............

  • Even though it is one monodic instrument (cello) the impression of the work is that there is more than one melodic line, this is done by doing different patterns in different registers, through gestalt the impression is of continuity even though temporarily it is not. For the fingering I try to divide those different melodies in different hands, whenever it is possible to achieve.

  • I disagree with DoctorChester, though I respect his perspective. I LOVE that you varied the tempo as it makes this piece a little more virtuosic and more interesting to listen to. Though I am a Flautist not a Cellist, but you played it exactly how I play it except I would love for you to take a LITTLE more time and rubato the climactic points a little more. Just by a little though. He is very correct in your sensitive interpretation. Bravo!

  • Wow! This reminds me so much of the Michael Hedges arrangement for harp guitar. Beautiful!

  • that was amazing man. bach would enjoyed hearing this

  • Hey I just got my stick yesterday and I'm putting this piece together (albeit slowly) now. Any tips?

  • Great job! I play a similar type of touchstyle guitar, and I'm going to begin learning this piece. Thanks for the inspiration!

  • jolie interprétation, avec un assez bon esprit baroque et le souci des deux voix lorsque la partition l'exige.

  • @sylvainches bravo mec, c'est encore plus difficile au violoncelle!

vu que ce n'est pas écrit pour un piano!

  • Bravo!

  • that is great

  • Hi Francisco, beautiful playing. Can I ask which tuning you use?
