Our mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. We carry out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives. March of Dimes researchers, volunteers, educators, outreach workers and advocates work together to give all babies a fighting chance against the threats to their health: prematurity, birth defects, low birthweight.

  • Kudos to Rikita on your wonderful twins doing so well. I know it isn't easy. My baby was born with congenital heart defects which led to open-heart surgery. PLEASE!

  • My sons Sammy and Stevie are in this video. Sam is the one you see first, when the narrator says "lifelong consequences". Stevie is the one looking at at the camera with the tube in his nose when it says "2 pounds". They are 4 1/2 now and they lead normal lives. Sammy has mild cerebral palsy and is a little clumsy with his walking but both boys are smart, fun, well-behaved, happy, healthy kids who go to regular pre-school and are learning to read. Dr. Jaile is my hero. Support MOD!

  • This was so moving and the doctor is working so hard to help these wee little ones. I know because I am the great grandmother of a new grandson who weighted 2lb 3oz.
