"A definitive laugh. A nietszchean laugh. A tragic laugh. Laugh like in front of a crucifix." Georges Bataille

hahaha. This is awesome. I first discovered this book when I was 17 and for whatever reason, decided to whip it out during a boring math class to help pass time...it ended up in the teacher's clutches.

@thereisnofirmament no, it was the guy in the hat and sunglasses. I had never met him before in my life, but he told me what was up. I was actually just studying outside and I told him about this project, so he agreed to help out.
I recently read Bataille's "Blue of Noon," and I have considered doing a review of it. I think it's a better book. It doesn't suffer from sensational overload like "The Story of the Eye."

@thereisnofirmament Actually one of the ppl in this video was on acid. I think it's obvious which one.

I love this book and I still lol'd at their responses.
In all honesty, I think I wont be reading this, it sounds utterly disgusting and I think that this was a great way to review it. I am very disappointed to hear that Bjork Loved this book and based her life philosophy on it...I have read many books, not all pleasant, but I can skip this one and have no regrets.

@gabbylovesmuse If I may, The STory of the Eye, I thought, suffered from sensational overload. If you don't think you can stomach it, try Bataille's "Blue of Noon" initially. It's one of his later works. Themes of sex, violence, and death are still there, but you are not bombarded with foul language and gross situations. Highly recommended.
