PARASITE (1971) by Nick Drake - in widescreen slideshow

Parasite is one of my favourite Nick Drake songs, featuring just voice and acoustic guitar. It's from 'Pink Moon', his third and final album.

Nick has since been much appreciated as a unique fingerpicking acoustic guitar player, often using many different and unusual tunings. The tuning in Parasite is CGCFCE with the capo at the third fret. Chris Healey's site has all Drake's work tabbed, for those wishing to explore further.

According to Wikipedia, Drake worked on Pink Moon over two nights in October 1971 with only himself and engineer John Wood present. The bleak songs of Pink Moon are short, and the eleven-track album lasts only 28 minutes, a length described by Wood as "just about right. You really wouldn't want it to be any longer." Drake plays solo on Pink Moon, unlike his previous albums which had support musicians such as Richard Thompson on guitar. "He was very determined to make this very stark, bare record", Wood later recalled. "He definitely wanted it to be him more than anything. And I think, in some ways, Pink Moon is probably more like Nick is than the other two records".

Cant' remember where that photo came from. But like several of the images in the video, it is not specifically of Nick Drake, but hopefully fits into the visual narrative.

Jeesus I love Nick Drake. I just began listening to him within the last year. "3 Hours" became an instant favorite and if i put on the album "5 Leaves Left" i can get wrapped in a cocoon right away -feels like being drunk.

You could also make videos with whatever images are soothing to you - I don't mind the pictures and appreciate the effort that went into them, especially after making my own first video. They're definitely a labor of love, IME
