  • i know this composition but y sugar is added y dont we use charcoal only??

  • @Real0Nighto I was never sure why but my black powder never seemed to give me enough lift itself, but when mixed with the standard 6:4 kno3:sugar rocket fuel i noticed a large improvement. So i refined this mixture, ratios in the description :)

  • @davidtroub hahaha i like this composition but i had few tries on bp rockets and i wasnt very satisfied of their thrust but im amazed with ur rocket

could u please tell me this motor dimensions i mean the fuel dimensions like the tube inner diameter nozzle diameter does it have a shape or just normal hole .....etc

    thx

  • @Real0Nighto sorry i made these a long time ago and have no idea anymore- the nozzle diameter was about 5mm and the tube inner diameter was about 30mm, the nozzle was just a normal drilled hole however the hole is also continued to about 1/2way into the rocket fuel.

  • did it have a nice tail?

  • I did not include sulfur in this mixture. When you add sulfur to this, it adds a golden trail. This works for ME, but not sure about anyone else.

  • @davidtroub thx dude these info u gave were pretty enough ill try making new motor and if i get good results ill upload vid response if u dont mind lol

by the way i like the thrust data show in this vid it made me feel like ur making experiments to your space ship hahaha

    thx

  • @donperry1

    interesting.

my tests dont show those results,

it could be impurities in the Sulphur i suppose?

  • @murdoch2486 Based on what i did in experiments, that what suflur does. Lowers the ignition tem (takes lot less flame to get it lit)

but i also noticed the flame (not the tail) is more yellow than orange

    just me

  • @donperry1

No it doesnt mate, not quite sure where people are getting this from?! (i presume because you make the connection that sulphur is a yellow powder?!)

The sulphur acts only as a catalyst in this comp and in no way alters the colour of the tail. Regardless of the intensity of the burn.

  • @murdoch2486 yeah, the charcoal adds tale but sulphur adds a more yellow flame

  • nice motor btw,

    homemade KNO3, thats pretty impressive.
