I live close to a tri-river area, the Mississippi, Illinois, and Missouri Rivers. There are Bald Eagles that are residents in this area year round. They have nests and raise their young in their territories each Spring. I have been observing a pair and their two eaglets this spring. It took some searching but I was able to find the nest and pick a site for observation that respects the eagles privacy. The eaglets are not for from the fledging stage. Even though they will fly from the nest soon, the parents will continue to feed them for a while at the nest. It has been wonderful being so near the young eagles and their parents.
Hello my35Xvision, It has been very exciting being able to observe this nest and its family this year. It is my first season to be able to do so. They will be fledging soon, but will stay around the nest for feedings for a while. They have really spoiled me.:)
