You have 2 extra moves which are always assigned to Gene, these will activate when the enemy reaches a certain height during a juggle;

Dragon Punch - (back + /\ button)
Jumping Roundhouse - (forward + /\ button)

You're also free to shift around the target with sidesteps between Dragon Punches - this is actually very useful as the Dragon has a radial attack range which will keep you safe when surrounded.

- here's some ways to launch them THAT high...

1. Counter-hit uppercut; throw the uppercut so that it interrupts an incoming attack when it connects. You have to make constant use of the counter-property when in Die - regular properties on attacks WONT launch. Watching out for the enemy audio cues is key here - they'll make a sound before they attack. Learn the sequences for each type and you'll soon be able to anticipate their incoming attacks and interrupt them for the counter.

2. Fully charged uppercut; hold the button down to make Gene charge back the uppercut - this works best as an off-the-floor launcher after a knockdown move. Even when an enemy is lying right down on the floor Gene's standard uppercut when charged will send them flying!

3. Uppercut from stun; guard-break the enemy and you see how they recoil back? Any hits during this animation will count as counter - so an uppercut will launch HIGH!

4. Off-the-floor (Axe-Kick); forward + /\, /\ when an enemy is on the floor (with energy left) in front of you is a fast way to get a really high launcher.

5. Evade-cancels; hold the left stick back, throw the uppercut and then flick your right thumb forwards over the right stick to cancel it with a forward evade. The trick is to cancel it exactly when the move connects - it's usually takes 4 hits of the cancelled uppercut to get them up to the height where the extra moves activate.

  • Yes it's possible with other moves too - you can evade-cancel the vast majority of attacks. For example you can hold an enemy up with an evade-cancelled multi-hit kick. Mule Kick doesnt evade-cancel but experiment to find other launchers which will. The system is very free and there isnt a "correct" way to do anything tbh.
