This is my Ishapore 2A made in 1965. These are based off of the Lee Enfield No. 1 Mk III rifles. They are built with stronger receivers and use 12 round magazines instead of the 10 Mags used on 303 Brit rifles. They were made to fire 7.62x51mm NATO rounds. Some advise against using 308 Winchester in these rifles. I don't know if it is bad for them to use 308. I only use NATO in this rifle and have no intentions of using 308 in it.

These were all new rifles. They are not rechambered Mk IIIs.

  • Did you change the settings so that the 480p option isn't available?

  • @csmybuttt

No, I didn't even realize it was missing. I've no clue why it did that.

  • sore shoulder? ;)

  • @thebravestpoo

Nah, 7.62x51mm doesn't kick hard at all. Especially in a rifle this heavy.

  • @NormanMatchem I've figured out that there is a 10 and 12 round mag for the Ishy. A company called Navy Arms apparently sold shortend "tanker" verisons of the Ishy, which ended up looking more like a Lee-enfield No 5. They were sold with either the 12 or 10 (for CA residents). Not sure which was standard on the miltary issue though

  • @AlyxanderWilliams Right on. Strange that they would make mags with an odd number like that but whatever sells. I'm gonna stick to my theory of making the mag the same size as 10 rnd .303 but ended up holding 12 rnd .308 lol

  • @NormanMatchem they actually made a 10 and 12 round magizine

  • @mediamafiaproduction Lee Enfield family of rifles are THE fastest bolt actions going ;) I dare any other bolt action to get 42 rounds on target at 300 yards in one minute lol I recall that was the record, correct me if I'm wrong.

  • Did I count that right? 12 rounds? That must be due to the rimless .308 cartridge taking up less space than rimmed .303. Same thing happened to the P14 when the US made it into M1917 in .30-06. The rimless .30-06 allowed for 6 rounds in the same sized magazine, whereas only 5 rounds can be fit when configured to the original .303 British cartridge. That... or I can't count lmao

  • love that sound

  • 7.62x54r will kick your ass after a few shots...learned that the hard way.. :(

  • the bolt action was specially reduced in lee enfield to reduce loading time.
