just some images of my current project, i plan on keeping it as original as possible.. with the exception of the 440 hirth ;) im currently working out the bugs in the engine, i keep fouling plugs and i may have to replace the points and condensers but we will see in due time, at this point in time here is what's currently done.
engine mounted and aligned with clutch,
temporary kill switch,
carb cleaned and moderately adjusted
hood cleaned and polished,
old worn out registration and bottom black and white trim decals removed
breaks and throttle ,
skip in track fixed
here's what needs to be done yet.
headlight wired
new idler gear for the back of the sled(old ones destroyed due to skip in track)
get new plugs and replace points and condensers
replace seat
sand blast frame and repaint
get expansion chamber and silencer
and last but certainly not least "piss neighbors off XD" jk
Looks good, should turn out real nice. I've got two suggestions for you. 1.Sea Foam - my '57 Evinrude would constantly foul plugs until I started running a couple ozs. of that in every gallon of gas. 2. penetrol for rust. Do a test piece, like a rusty tool or somethin I used to always sandblast rust, but now I just get the loose stuff off, clean w/ solvent, do 2 coats of penetrol, then paint. It soaks into the rust, hardens up and it won't rust again, ever
