The Tonight Show - History of Conan O'Brien

Leno, his immediate predecessor, will do a weeknight prime-time show on NBC. The workaholic Leno will start "in two days, three days tops," O'Brien joked. Actually, it's in September.

O'Brien christened a new studio on the Universal City lot with a handsome art-deco look. The stage has a blue glass background for the opening monologue, before O'Brien retreats to a desk in front of a sparkling backdrop of Los Angeles.

@underlinedbluetext yeahwell maybe your right about the Tonight Show but Conans show on TBS is for me just so sad since he reallly doesn't seem to care. His conversations with guests nowadays are just so painful to see, he just does the "ummmm something I found interesting" or he laughs to andys jokes and repeats them for himself. Even when guests are saying something funny he doesn't say something funny back....:( It fucking Sucks man. Yeah he's funnier than Leno but how hard can that be XD

Conan didn't even get a chance with the Tonight Show gig... I'd say that it usually takes 6 months to a year for a show like that to get in a groove. - Maybe you should try watching Conan's show on TBS again now that he's more comfortable.

They're not always going to knock it out of the park. But it's better than the crap fest Leno puts on night in night out.

@fuzzywzhe Not exactly. It was still a great show for several years after Conan left, mostly because of the genius John Schwartzwelder, who has written more classic episodes than anyone else.
