Margot, I agree, my comment shifted to MLK being proud of us electing a man of African decent to the highest office. I did not mean that he would be proud of our actions in the middle east.

it is an oxymoronat best to say a "pacifist" would "rage".... also, 911's no joke, and the enemy is for real....Dr King was an American and proud of it.... we did not start the fire (listen to that billy joel song)!

OK, she sat, he marched, he ran and he won. Now the children can fly.
Question is, did we not have the chance to fly before now? Time to get to work and take advantage of the opportunities available to us & our children and no more look for fault.
Time to fly - on my own - on our own - on your own. Don't expect the government to carry you. That isn't part of the deal. That isn't why Rosa walked - that's not why Martin walked. The opportunity is here. Time to fly, if you want to.

dear cw, MLK was a pacifist to the core of his wonderful and courageous being, and I feel sure he'd rage at sending in 30,000 more troops to "secure" the pipeline route. Construction on the TAPI begins in 2010, probably whatever it takes.
On the CBC recently we watched a great young soldier look straight into the camera and say he's doing it all for the beautiful children. Noble, but not why he's there. I'm betting until after the program he'd never heard of Caspian petro or the TAPI.

Pipelineistan, never spoken truer. Don't know what he would have said, I'd never have the audacity to put words in that great man's mouth, but I have a feeling he'd be proud of US.

What would Martin Luther King have said about Gaza, brothers, and the surge of troops to Pipelineistan?
