The third movement of Jean Sibelius' fifth symphony in E flat major. The fifth symphony, like many of Sibelius' works, is not programmatic but abstract, and music that speaks entirely for itself. Despite its natural and striking beauty and majesty, this symphony also brims with creative ideas, and is completely original from beginning to end.

Allegro molto.

  • @lewars1912 cool tip brah

  • @technicallyabsurd You'll become even more sophisticated if you stop calling it a "song."

  • I can't stop listening to this. It's rare that I feel so compelled to listen to classical music as I do this song. As a result, I feel sophisticated as hell.

  • This was used in an 80s pop song ("Since Yesterday" by Strawberry Switchblade).

  • The Swan call is really beautiful, as are the counter melodies, a great example of lovely Neoclassical music!
