Otter Bar Lodge Kayak School is one of the top kayak schools in the world. Located on California's remote and pristine Salmon River, it was also the training grounds for Team Dagger athlete Rush Sturges. In this video we meet with legendary instructor Creek Hanauer who has been teaching whitewater kayaking for 25 years. Creek explains some of the features of the Mamba, and why this boat is #1 preferred boat at Otter Bar Lodge Kayak School. • @Neils2809 Ditto! : D

  • I have owned both a play and creek version- if you are thinking about buying one, be sure to note and try the differences. The creek model has a seat that sits significantly lower and will be more challenging for a beginner/intermediate to roll. But it has the step-out pillar and the seat is much better attached to the hull.

@mmdghr- the Nomad is a great boat but designed for different applications.

  • the dagger nomad 8.5 eats this boat for lunch all day !!!!! nuff said

  • I`m new to kayaking and bought a Dagger Mamba pretty much on the back of this video .

    What a great choice i made . I could`nt be happier .

  • I love the Mamba, I wouldn't trade it in for anything. Have a look at what it did for me in early March (my first whitewater kayak, and it was my first week in the water with it). Forgiving and stable is just what I needed before learning how to roll properly, lol. Looking back, I would recommend every starter to take a class, and one should consider themselves lucky takeing a class where they only use the finest boats (Dagger Mamba's).

    Cheers!

  • Can Samba get a MambaGood going Creek! Sam from Bali
