@lexabuzz They never quite do her life story right. Either it's all sunshine and happiness and her death came out of the blue for no reason or they fetishize the dark parts as though that's all she had going on too.

@NotADood I definitely believe she had a lot of darkness. I just perfer to think of her realistically and not so much as a overly dramatic movie. isnt this the one where norma jean is hit with a car? lol

I remember watching this and being very moved by Poppy's performance. She showed a soft, vulnerable side as well as the tenacity and strength of will that Ms. Monroe must have had deep within to make it as far as she did in life. Was it inaccurate? Of course, because how can you sum up a life like Marilyn Monroe's in so short a space of time? The point is showing her fragile humanity and sparkling hopefulness for a future that sadly did not come to pass...

@lexabuzz Monroe wrote an autobiography entitled 'My Story." It was so dark and brutal and tumultuous few people believed it and the rest basically said she shouldn't repeat such unsavory things lest she ruin their sunny little image of her.
