Well...if you really feel and believe that mate, then I couldnt possibly argue this topic further, other than to say it's precisely that selfish 'I want more cash, more personal wealth' argument (under the guise of What's Good For The Country' of course) that has been the downfall of this country. Rudd may not be any better (I vote Green), but it's somewhat of a positive step. *Agrees to disagree, shakes hands and walks away*

I'm well aware of that, and I was referring precisely to that. A good leader knows not only how to act, but when to act at a time that it will best serve the interests of his people. John Howard's decision to intervene in East Timor and thus both secure the right of self determination for the East Timorese and a share of the Timor Gap oil for Australia was possibly the best foreign policy decision made by an Australian Prime Minister in the past few decades.
