  • Jesse is that DUDE on guitar, but why are people so surprised that Prince can shred?

  • Jesse is a better guitar player than Prince, Prince as songwriter is on different planet than Jesse.

  • @djtonyrome1958 I Agree Tony I Was in the Middle section on the Edge of the Bacony Jesse Was Cuttin So Bad The House Was Bleeding

  • DAYUM!!!!!!!!!! I have to say, Jesse, and Prince (yes, Prince can shred, too) are two of the BADDEST MOFOS on guitar!!!!! Wish I could have seen this live!!!!!! I need to catch up on Jesse's solo albums he did. Word has it that the man kills it also when it comes to the BLUES!!!! Thanks for posting this!!!

  • Some good leads...I'm just saying he's not as good as a lot of his fans(who don't even play) make him out to be...case in point have you ever heard another guitarist cite prince as an influence or even someone they like to listen to? Joe satriani in an old interview talked about his use of distortion and the way he would use multiple tracks do simple guitar parts...listen to "strange" on his

  • I gave the dandy props for his entertaining showmanship...I've seen him live several times back in the day when he was young and hungry and yes he changed popular music...props for that too...I'm just saying as a guitarist he's not that good...I went to those shows to see prince the guitarist and left disappointed...sadly his fans seem to care more about his playing than he does

  • I gave the dandy props for his showmanship and entertainment value...to me he was a better entertainer than MJ...I'm speaking strictly from a guitarist standpoint...the dude is simply not that good...and as I said on that earlier stuff his and the time that's dez...I saw him EVERYTIME he came to Atlanta and his guitar playing never really jumped out at me and I was going to see him play...not for the "show"....but I left disappointed...I'm not saying on record that he hasn't played some good le

  • @twblackstone Granted, if Andre played the bass solo, then what of the guitar? The lead guitar riffs on that track are the high points and the style is riff wise is simular to Bambi, treat me so bad and cool. Prince spread himself out too much to be another "stand there like a man" guitarist of the stature of Hendrix. He really had a lot of other things that he brought to the table that changed the face of popular music and culture. Look at the bigger picture.

  • Jesse would disagree with you about P. He is a humble and intelligent guy. As good as he was then and still is, the impact of Prince' artistry and musicianship helped to shape Jesse's overall approach to the game and not the other way around. Today Jesse's overall guitar playing is more soulful and flat out more charismatic than most in the main stream and the crazy thing is that he's not getting props for it. Jesse is on a whole other level and he stands out.

  • @twblackstone Proof please. Oh.... you don't have any. Even still the guitar work on album one is better, and more solid than any other Time album that followed it, and its still not Jesse on album one. I saw Prince and Dez live in 82 and the Time opened for them. Prince can hold his own Sir. Look at the youtube stuff with Dez in the band. I saw P play Bambi live and he nailed the solo doc. Jesse's playing has evolved from that time till now and he is excellent at what he does, one of the best.
