I entered into Art School with a heavily saturated computer graphics background wanting to do try traditional animation. For a long time I had wanted to know how to do this and when computer graphics became popular, I wondered "what is it that the mind produces that the computer cannot replicate?" As a result I tended to stick to as much realism based material as possible. I figured that the mind and the computer have the power to abstract equally well, thus I embarked on a search for the anomaly between the two in creating the same types of projects. Some results are as follows.

  • Impressive reel!? So are you working on a special project now?

  • At the moment I'm searching for freelance and fulltime projects to support my animation. If you have any info let me know. Are you an animator?

  • this is brilliant the person singing sounds like todd from the replacments

  • So how is it done? You take wax paper and you trace the frame one after another and until your finished you trace all those frames with cels? Because if thats the case than it should not be anymore because we can make paper animation as photoreal as CGI with scanners.

  • what art school are u attending? also, i would love to see ur portfolio

  • oh and by the way there is some beautiful animation in there! I study multimedia at university and they only teach computer based media

  • Ive been wondering about the classic cel animations recently from watching the original batman animated series 1992, and you can see that as the digital animation has taken over you miss the organic feel, it feels very processed and cheap when they do it all on the computer these days (in most cases) so I've been looking a lot at it and thinking of giving it a go... any techniques?

  • I am an animator. I can animate by hand. And I can also do computer animation. Software: XSI & Photoshop.
