Hilary Doyle and I did this story one cool fall evening as part of Hilary's 'Good Idea' segment. Good fun, running around at night in Kesington going through dumpsters then going to their place to make dinner.

@Blackeze thats fine...but when one of them gets sick from eating out of the trash like rats....who will pay for there medical bill? ..since they have little or no income. ..the tax payer will have to bail there stupid freeloading asses out once agian. i say if they get sick its on them...no money? no healthcare? tough shit

@usaf317 Sadly here in the 21st Century we are no more advanced than the ancient Greeks. Sure we have technology, but really nothing else has changed. I don't think "these people" want us to live like primitive man but rather to realize we have a choice and to exercise out freedom to deviate from the norm. Live and let Live.

I did my first little tiny bit of freeganism the other day, I got a tip on a bakery and went and got a really nice fresh loaf of bread from a very expensive bakery, I could have taking 20 but I cant eat 20 loafs of bread. I'm interested to see what else I can find. Not sure i'll go so far to cut the bad bit off the apple though! C'mon man!

I prefer the idea of "sharing" to eliminate waste. Give what you don't need. Waste management: before food goes bad, make a soup out of it or a casserole. But protect your health. Don't eat out of a garbage can where they are pouring rat poison. Rats and mice themselves leave a trail of urine and fecal matter everywhere they go because they can't hold their bowels. Flies and roaches carry horrible viruses and diseases, some of which are heat resistant. Just something to consider.

Yeah! Let everyone work long hours to make the money to BUY what they need/want I'll choose working less and getting a lot of what I need for free.

Personally I'd prefer to start a garden or hunt sewer rat, but I respect this much more than people leaching off of the government(people that don't NEED it of course)
