For years, author and Neurologist Oliver Sacks has chronicled the lives of people afflicted with disorders of the mind and brain. In today's Morning Story, he tells us of the man behind those words.

Thanks to Magnatune recording artist Andreas Haefliger for the use of "Sonata in B flat minor KV 570" in the
production of this week's podcast. This is sampled under an Attribution 2.5 Creative Commons license.

  • levels of the piano music is irritatingly high

  • love it

  • thank you, thank you, thank you......

  • This is a beautiful and haunting video. The music reference in "about this video" is incorrect, however. The piece playing in the background is the andante from sonata nr. 16 in C-major, KV 545. Andreas Haefliger is the pianist.

  • Beautiful and profound. I wish more of his TV work were available on DVD. this was a lovely find. Thank you for posting it.

  • Excellent video. I've read Awakenings at least a half dozen times. The footnotes alone are worthy of a book. I've never seen this. Ty

  • MANY THANKS for putting this video up.

Oliver Sacks is one of those men who makes a difference to the world!
