the first time i saw an interview on here w/john all the comments were about how lame he was and i kind of agreed but seriously if you just look around a bit you'll realise that john norris really knows his shit, he's not trying to be 'young' or whatever, that's just the stuff he likes so deal with it, he actually seems really nice and cool

Yeah, John Norris DOES look like a douche. Who gives a fuck though? He knows his shit, and almost always does great interviews. Not to say MTV ever had any depth or meaning to it, but remember that Norris was only part of the MTV generation that actually played music videos.
