Deshtination by the Shplang Ensemble

A 'ragajazz' chamber ensemble performance of based on the North Indian Raga Desh. The Shplang Ensemble is composed of a diverse group of teenage performers from around Los Angeles. Shplang is the sound of instruments from different cultures colliding together in one place. Shplang is run by the Sangeet School of World Music now based in Pasadena at Throop Church. The Shplang Ensemble 2009 was directing by Paul Livingstone & Chris Moore with Peter Jacobson as our strings couch. Shplang was funded by a grant from Music LA, department of Cultural Affairs for the City of Los Angeles.
