I was accepted into the Naval and Airforce Academies...I couldn't get a waiver for my asthma...last attack was 13. I wish I could have gone because it would have made a better career for me. Graduating from these academies is very rewarding and makes people proud. Anyways, good job men and women.

@Badchoicesmade You don't have to go to Parris Island if you go to Annapolis into the marines because you come out as an officer. Maybe you have to go to OCS but that's it

@Iambeastly1000 Well I think you'd still have to go to Parris island, but yes, marines can start with Annapolis.

@3rdID8487 Well, Hitler is dead ...so, maybe Satan. It would have to be someone everyone there could rally around. Randall "Duke" Cunninham might be a good choice. He's fairly typical of the USNA graduate.

Do you have to go to the naval academy to be in the navy or is it just or a better route to take?

@ddavid1106 no you don't have to go to the Naval Academy, its for officers only. Enlisted go to one of several training centers, depending on your job. Its actually not that easy to get in the Academy. You go for 4 years and end up with a degree and a position as an officer in the ranks.
