Hello my name is Solvent and this is a video demonstration of the Intellijel Corgasmatron eurorack VCF, being used here on a melodic bassline part.
Sequencing is done via a Make Noise setup -- Brains, 2x Pressure Points, and clocked by a MATHS.
Make Noise B+PP is also sequencing a Jomox MBase01 kick, and a Snare part created with MS-20 white noise into a YuSynth Arp VCF. The Cogasmatron's signal path is set up just like an MS20 - HPF into LPF in series.
The VCOs are a Tip Top Audio Z3000 mk2 + a DinSync OSC303, with a little vibrato courtesy of a Livewire Vulcan LFO. Their pitch is controlled by Ch1 of the PP+B, with the CVs quantized through an Intellijel uStep.
HPF is being modulated by ch2 of PP+B (through the MATHS for occasional slew/portamento), and by an MFB ADSR. LPF is being modulated by ch3 of PP+B, and by MFB ADSR.
This configuration, sequencing these 2 distinctive filters in series, is a big part of why the MS-20 has been so indispensable to my sound over the years - so much movement to the sound, and it really sits in a mix so well. If you've listened a lot of Solvent music, you've likely heard this sound from me before. This Intellijel filter nails the MS-20 essence here - hollow and wooden one minute, then sizzling and razor-acidic the next.
Love it
