I Wanna Know You Nelena Story ep 23

*at the hospital, Nick and the boys are in the waiting room, Sel has been with the doctors for an hour*

Frankie: *sitting next to Jake* Shell be ok, Jake. Shes strong. She was fine at home.

Jake: *smiles at him weakly* i know, i just feel guilty.

Frankie: *looks at him weirdly* why? You didnt have anything to do with her getting hurt, right? Didnt she get like beat up by a gang or maybe she fell down the stairs or something?

Jake: *realises that Frankie doesnt know* oh, right...

Frankie: *looks at him like hes crazy but just sinks back into the chair*

Nick: *frustrated, walks over to the reception desk* excuse me? Can i please see Selena Gomez, now?

Nurse: *types into her computer, after a few seconds* uh... only family are allowed to see her right now...

Nick: *impatient and lies* well, im her brother. Can you please tell me which room she is in?

Nurse: Oh, im very sorry, sir *looks at her computer again while Nick rocks back and for tapping his fingers on the desk, irritated* Its room 23A, just down the hall, through those doors *points the end of the pencil in her hands towards a set of double doors, swinging effortlessly with every person who walks through*

Nick: thank you! *walks quickly back to the boys* ok, guys *hands them both some money* go to the cafe and Ill be there in about 10 minutes ok?

Frankie: *takes the money from Nick and pulls Jake along towards the cafe* ok, see you soon.

Nick: *turns and walks quickly through the big double doors and walks along, scanning every number and letter on each door as he flies by them.... 21B, 22A, 22B.... 23A. He takes a deep breath and prepares for the worst as he turns the handle quietly and shuffles into the room, never taking his eyes off the door. As soon as hes closed the door, he turns around and sees her lying in the bed, watching him* hey.

Sel: *doesnt move* hey. You ok?

Nick: *walks over and sits on her bed* yeah, but youre not. Whats the damage, soldier?

Sel: *smiles weakly* few broken ribs and 2 fingers but im good.

Nick: *raises his eyebrows at her* Good? She almost killed you, Sel. Please dont make me say this again. You put yourself in danger. You almost killed yourself and left Jake to be alone and beaten by himself in silence.

Sel: *looks at him* did you know my mum was gonna kill me? How did you show up out of nowhere?

Nick: *looks up at her through the curls covering his eyes, it was either tell her the truth and sound like an idiot or lie to her... something he knew he would regret* Lets just say im your good luck charm...

Sel: *smiles at him in disbelief* wow, youre even more of a flop than i thought *nudges him gently* but Nick... seriously?

Nick: *he knew he was gonna have to tell her sometime* I needed to talk to you... to be away from my house for a while... to go somewhere or to someone that i could trust and be around... but when i got to your house, i saw your mum through the window...

Sel: *Smiles at him* thanks, Nick. You saved me.

Nick: *chuckles and grins at her* Im just too amazing at times, right?

Sel: *rolls her eyes sarcastically* if only you had a brain...

Nick: I better go get the boys, soon. By the way... if anyone around here asks... im your brother.

Sel: *raises her eyebrows* care to share?

Nick: only family members are allowed to visit you, right now. So, here i am, sis.

Sel: *looks him up and down, teasing* out of everyone in the world who could possibly be my pretend brother, it had to be you...

Nick: Hey! No fair! Anybody would be lucky to have someone like me as a brother: Im charming, clever, good-looking, funny and i have muscles to die for...

Sel: Im sorry, did you just say good-looking? I couldnt tell, i was blinded by that smudge on your neck... *grins at him* sorry, thats your face, right?

Nick: *fake gasps* good to have you back on the normal side, Selly. Youre not gonna risk yourself again are you?

Sel: *looks down*

Nick: *sighs* Sel...

Sel: Nick, i cant leave Jake to fend for himself. Imagine what my mother would do to him. I wouldnt live with myself if anything happened to him. I dont know if i could. Jakes always been there for me since day 1, i wouldnt let him suffer for anything in the world.

Nick: And you think that by killing yourself, youre helping him? Imagine what hed be without you. Youre everything he knows and has... if you go; youre taking that away from him, Sel. Plus, if you go... where would that leave me?
