  • There's more to Jazz than just improv. Composers such as Duke Ellington and Charles Mingus wrote occasional Jazz compositions practically devoid of improv. The real challenge comes when a composer integrates improv into a piece, merging Jazz composition and improv in the act of creativity. This piece was Ben Folds and was arranged for the purpose of his cover album, "University A Cappella". Listen to the other CSUS YouTube posts - there's plenty of improv. CSUS has won many Down Beat awards.

  • The chord and its placing in the voices at 2.00 on the word 'sight' is too sick!! Love it... also love the very last chord. And respect to all the singers for keeping it bang on pitch throughout.

  • who's the male soloist??? he's amazing.

  • Oh, and Robert Murray on bass!

  • Don't forget to give credit to Ian Brekke on vocal percussion!
