This is Petite Jamilla's performance That I copied from the Bellydance Superstars' DVD Solos From Monte Carlo. This DVD is available from Bellydance Superstars.com or Borders/Amazon. The reason that the zills are off is that they were dubbed during editing. Enjoy.

@rnraqssharkii I have studied and performed belly dance for 30 years. Our teacher would not let us out to perform publically until we were proficient in EVERYTHING. She was a tough lady, God rest her soul; but it paid off. I agree with what you stated---every part of it.
Funny when I called Petite Jamilla" the queen of turns", all of her groupies wanted to tar and feather me. That proves that there is not any grace to be found here, with these dancers.

i really don't like her style, there's no grace at all. i don't know, when i look at her dance all i see is the sequence of crude moves, steps and figures, and absolutely no feeling, no flow. and also these days, when she dances with those veils of hers, it's not even belly dance anymore, there's only spinning with no hip movement at all.....
there is, however, a reason why i keep watching her videos, namely her fantastic wardrobe choices! seriously, those harem pants are g o r g e o u s!!!!

She is a good dancer but shouldn't be let anywhere near a set of zills. I have seen Petite Jamilla perform many times but never heard her play zills before. Any true dancer/zill player knows the zills are not used constantly but to accent the music/dance. Any competent zill player would follow the rhythm of the tune not just clack away any old how.
And, gomanvongo - Petite Jamilla is a PROFESSIONAL belly dancer and as such should know better and never have let this see the light of day.
