@pontaderese i thought the indicators looked ok.... why should EVERY vespa be the same..? nice looking bike
-
@iowancamera I'm guessing if some Primavera had a battery in Italy too. I remember one model that was with a different electric part....
-
@iowancamera Was that vespa sold originally with those light signal in US?

These direction indicators are really ugly and ridicolous, but that Vespa is not so bad! Can't you remove this crap from your Vespa? It's really, really bad-looking.
Greetings from Pontedera!

@pontaderese Yeah, I could remove them if I wanted to, but I don't. It's probably one of the nicest original 74 Primaveras in the USA.

@iowancamera It was sold in US with those different light indicators?

@robbyvenetian Yes, this was the first year the USA DOT required turn signals on imported bikes, so Vespa included them. The wiring diagram for this bike is way more complicated than a european spec bike. These are also original, so this is what it looked like from the factory. I have a different tail lamp on the bike than stock.

@iowancamera That's interesting. i don't like those signals too because I'm Italian and I always saw Vespas without....but if that was the requirements in USA you are right to keep them.

@robbyvenetian Yes, the 1974 Primavera in the USA was weird because it has a battery and turn signals. The wiring diagram is VERY different from a European specification bike. The signals are CEV brand, so they are Italian. They look the same as the ones on my Benelli motorcycle.
