A westbound stack/intermodal train with a ES44DC leader runs by fast as an eastbound baretable train led by a C44-9W comes into view... and stops.
A meet almost in front of me. What finally happened is the best part. As it was explained to me by the crew of 4824. They did not receive any clue that there would be a red signal rather than the expected yellow as the signal tower came into view. Blocked from early view on the curve by tree growth. So they stopped just short of the crossing in full view of my camera. I had a great conversation with the very cordial crew for about 20 minutes. They gave me a bottle of water while I explained the workings of the ATCS Monitor. They appreciated the clue as to where the opposing traffic was.
NEXT UP: 4824 moves out.
Exelent my friendy...By thank you Ricardo of the Campinas SP/Brasil...

Meeting a nice crew always adds to the railfan experience. I've talked to some crews, and they have some great stories to share.
