I wish one day Cilea would be recognised as one of the greatest opera composers of all time. Beautiful music like this deserves more recognition than it has. Kaufmann and Gheorgiu are great in these roles. I wish I had seen this.

Not as far as I know, been shown on TV in Europe and in cinemas; I really hope it is eventually released on DVD. I'm first in the queue.

I saw the complete performance last monday, it was wonderful !!!!!!!!!!!
The singing is sublime throughout, the direction is not so good. IMHO

Angela proves that it takes more than a gorgeous sound and morbidezza to carry off even the most fruitless role; however I'd rather see her inhabit this role (however problematically) than most of the others out there right now....especially if it meant seeing Kaufmann as Maurizio.
