Market Garden Commemoration008 massed pipes and drums at John Frost bridge of Arnhem

Friday 18 September 2009: in the afternoon the Massed Pipes and Drums Band is performing in the streets of the old heart of Arnhem. In the evening, about 7 pm they go in a slow march towards the Airborne square, to grace the real Market Garden Commemoration. You find everything about laying wreaths, speeches, national anthems of Poland, United Kingdom and The Netherlands (Mazurek Dabrowskiego, God save the queen, Wilhelmus), Dutch Hymn 293 Last Post, respectfull silence to the casualities and the reveille. The completion of the ceremony was at the Arnhem town hall, of which I taped the performance of the Massed Pipes and Drums Band.

Im from Holland, and i didnt forget !!!! Now the pipes give me a feeling of freedom and sadness because the sound reminds me of those who fallen for my freedom today.

I can only say thanks for saving our ass and nothing but respect !!! To me it will be scotland THE BRAVE till my last breath.
