@miffymichael8 Why? They lost the war so, tough luck. Maybe if they wanted to keep them all they shouldn't have attacked Pearl Harbor in the first place.
You mentioned, in one of your other videos, that the Zero had a great range. When I listen to that 14 cylinder, while you are crusing, the engine is REALLY crusin'!! Just turning over! Was that 1800 or so rpm ? Seemed leisurely, for sure. A very nice aircraft - thanks, N-6395T
Zero was a good aircraft. Biggest problem was lack of trained pilots to fly them. When fighting a Zero 1) Never try to turn with a Zero. Even the PTO Spitfires could not turn with a Zero )Keep your airspeed above 200knots. Zero's large control surfaces that contributed to its excellent maneuverability became stiff at 200 knots greatly reducing its responsiveness.
Later Zero's IIRC model 52 on had armor and self sealing tanks but by then there was a shortage of combat experienced pilots.
Thanks for this video, it is so well filmed. Hope the pilot and the plane is safe. That is some story you have got there!
