http://www.therenegadehealthshow.com - This is a popular topic up for debate in many food and nutrition communities...

If you're a raw foodie, a vegan, or even someone who eats a whole food diet that includes meat, eggs and/or dairy, you'll want to watch this show.

I run over the types of vitamin b12 that you can find in your cabinet, what types of food sources are appropriate, the skinny on spirulina, and where you can find out for yourself if you're deficient or not!

(I also talk about the hippie guy on my desk and answer a non-health related question as best I can...)

  • The only reason why vegans and vegetarians are sometimes deficient in B12 is that almost all our soil is fu**ed up meaning we hardly have any good soil with good microorganisms left. Plus we're to hygienic about things which give us less B12 on our food. Gorillas for example eat the own poop sometime to get B12, though they do it out of instinct it's not something we would want to do ;-)

  • 100% raw foodist for life .

  • @novenyc I cured all my health problems with a Raw food diet! I agree!

  • @novenyc How do u get your b12?

  • @knuddel123 Eating our own crap, would get most people sick! Not a good idea and its tastes bad! our is soil is mineral depleted soil, I agree!

  • @TheaDragonSpirit hehe :) well it just seems like it goes that way, cute guys that keep themselves healthy (outside of bodybuilding that is)... I'm glad he has a gf and I hope they get married. I am ;D

  • @servantrose - That's so funny! Ha! No he has girlfriend. :P

  • I love the information you give out...also you are so cute, are you gay?

  • ...Therefore vegans and vegetarians actually have higher levels of B12 in their bodies than people who eat a meat-based diet. Vegetarians who have heard that they don't get enough protein in their diets and know this myth is untrue can rest assured that vitamin B12 deficiency is a myth as well. Instead, vegans need to concentrate on eating plenty of healthy low fat raw foods. The truth is people don't have to eat meat or other animal products to survive and thrive.
