The man's a genius. "Name the crime I'm guilty of x 6", "Give it up, give it up, gotta give it up" Mark Hollis is one of the few singers I've heard who can keep a listener engaged even when he repeats himself infinitely. A true testament to how convincing his singing and musicianship is. Bravo, Maestro.

@betweenthreeislands No way. New Gold Dream by my favorite band, Simple Minds has to be the best synthesizer album I ever heard. The best band of the 80's for me is either U2 or New Order...

@3anaurv2 Absolutely, Pet Shop Boys are in my mind the best band of all time. If Talk Talk never stopped they'd be worthy to consider as well.
PSB's first 5 albums are genius, just like Talk Talk's. But PSB kept going, and while they did taper off somewhat, their decline is minimal compared to all the other bands out there. We'll never know if Talk Talk would have been able to be as prolific and consistent as PSB proved to be.

Arguably THE best band of the 80's and one of the best of all time. From the strike of the first note of this album right through to the fade of chords at the end of Runeii on Laughing Stock, ten years of pure genius and bliss.
