This is a clip from the Kodak ZX3 firmware version 1.12 shot in 720p 60fps EIS off. I went through the 10 step zoom and you can clearly see that from step 0 to step 5 the video is slightly blurry. At step 6 the focus changes and the image becomes clearer and sharper the way it should be at step 0. I contacted Kodak and they said this is not a known problem, which it is because someone posted a video in March regarding this and did a detailed explanation. I won't bother with Kodak's support anymore since all they do is transfer you from person to person then just read off the pdf manual which I could have done myself and saved myself a half an hour of grief. FIX IT KODAK....!!!!
I noticed this problem right away. It seems like when it jumps its maybe switching to the 1080p part of the sensor because the 1080 mode is not as wide of view. The resolution gets quite better at this middle section. When I'm filming and zoom I keep it here because the resolution is the same as the wide setting.

i just bought one of these a few days ago. and theres a few problems already. first. in regards to the zoom. on mine, when i zoom in all the way the video becomes so grainey and pixilated its makes the video completly unuseable. and also with continious press and hold of the zoom button it zooms in what i call blocks. thats not smooth at all. and the list of faults go on. im probably returning mine. its a pitty , i really like it otherwise.

Hey...
If you haven't seen the explanation to this problem (very reasonable, by the way), here it is: watch?v=LCSpssgvk8w
I'm sorry there's not a fix up to now yet. I own this camera too and I've never noticed this problem before. The only problem I'm having is that one about the floating white pixel (annoying as hell), but, well, I'm running some tests as soon as I can.
