Dr. Nickol Finch and her staff at WSU's College of Veterinary Medicine took a year to successfully rehabilitate "Maverick," a 2 year-old male bald eagle. He was found in 2007 near Winthrop, Wash., with broken and missing wing and tail feathers and unable to fly. He was released May 8, 2008, in the Asotin Creek drainage, Asotin, Wash.
