  • bcuz otherwise u'd get another inequality

    -draw a number line

    -make bold the solutions for -2x=<10 and 10

    -then apply the -2 division on the solutions and the point 10

    -u'll see that if u dont reverse that would be another inequality

  • Why do you reverse the direction of the inequality. Can you show us a proof, so we know why?

  • Well, in fact division is kind of derived from multiplication by the division algorithm. Dividing by 2, in this case, is equivalent with multiplying by 1/2.
