I just saw this pair today,they are so beautiful together!

4461 was scrapped,then they rebuilt 4461,turned into a slanted R40S and renumbered it to 4260

i rode these two, they are probably going to be preserved,due to their history of the accident

i saw a diamond Q on the R42 4665 rollsign im suprised they preserved these trains did they?? im guessing this pair will be in Coney Island for a while im guessing 4461 and 4664 was involved in accidents and was not repaired in 1995 4461 was rebuilt into a slant car and was renumberd 4260

That pair is the R40M and R42 paired up with each other after they lost their mates in the Williamsburg accident back in 1995. I think it will be up for preservation as well.
