Sweet potatoes or yams? Their names are often used interchangeably, but they are definitely not the same thing. Here's the difference. Sweet potatoes are actually smooth and texture on the outside, and they have a white light flesh on the inside. They contain a lot of Vitamin A and C, and they're great mashed up, served in casseroles, or even just roasted on their own. Now obviously the more popular of the two is the yam. Now the yam is originally imported from Latin America and the Caribbean, and it also contains Vitamin A, C, and fiber. You can try them in recipes like yam fries, you can also make yam casseroles, or just have regular roasted yams. Now although the yam is more popular of the bunch, the sweet potato is making a comeback, and you can find both of them at your local grocery store.
