How to install applications (e.g. Skype) on Mac OS X

I know what you're thinking - "Why would anyone need a video for this?" I made this video for my sister who didn't know how to install apps on Mac OS X when she bought her first Mac.

Looks like computers, even Macs, aren't as user-friendly as we think!

how do i installTAR files? like when i download something i get TAR files instead of dmg files

@Silverstreak202 Double-click the TAR file like the DMG file in the video, drag the App out into your Applications folder, and then instead of ejecting a DMG file, just delete the TAR file and the folder that was "untarred".
