I BET this will be the last time you take Troy over Southern Miss. LOL! It was close, but Southern Miss has the best back field in C-USA. They will be hell on wheels in '09. They have had back to back best recruiting in C-USA. Will be intresting.

You have a good point there.

That brings me to another point - Bower was not the best recruiter for our team. We have very few really defensive players left, which is something we'll have to work on during the upcoming year.
Bower was content with just having a winning season and going to a lame bowl every year (excluding 2003's Liberty Bowl). We wanted to do more than that - we want to be up there with MSU and Ole Miss, to dominate our conference. The game had passed Bower by, and it was time for a change.

To understand the coaching change, you really would've had to have seen every game we've played for the past few years. Yes, we've had 15 consecutive winning seasons. Yes, we played been in several bowl games with Bower.
That is not what most fans had an issue with. Bower played NOT to lose, and it was infuriating to watch. We had ZERO passing game - the best thing we had going for us was Damion Fletcher, and our opponents figured that out pretty quickly.
Yeah really, this guy is a rambling idiot! So much for his pick. Guess he didn't research that Damion Fletcher was named the best player in Mississippi last year and has rushed for 1,000 yds three years in a row. Gerald McRath was named the Defensive Player of the year in the conference. Shawn Nelson is a definite pro prospect. Is he drunk? Go back to your Troy site!!!

Not knowing who the best players are and not knowing the history and MO of a school makes picking winners more difficult. ADavis is great, but he's not Gerald McRath, Damion Fletcher or Shawn Nelson either. I'm not a gambler, but I think this was an easier pick going the other way. I don't fault you, but the biggest intangiable that was new this year was the team's inability to quit. This is the first year I have seen this team truly play till the whistle bowls.

Troy had only lost to Ohio State, Oklahoma State, LsU, and ULM when half their team was out, congrats on the win but that's a really strong resume for anyone.

Brilliant pick. Southern Miss finished up their season as one of the strongest teams in Conference USA, and Troy is ... um ... a member of the Sun Belt. Critical thinking ... it's fundamental. Southern Miss spotted Troy 7 points in the first play of the game, the refs gave Troy 11 more points, and Southern Miss still managed to win, what does that tell ya?

It tells me that it's easy for people like you to search around and find people that stuck their neck out and had the guts to analyze a game and make a pick when you sat back and did nothing. Of course if the guy stays in front of the first down marker we never hear a peep out of you, typical. In any event I went 4-1 for the weekend, I'll gladly take it.
